THE PICTURE ABOVE IS ON THE HIGH DEFINITION VERSION OF THE GAME, THE PICTURES BELOW IN THE GUIDE WERE TAKEN ON THE STANDARD HIGH DETAIL MODE. Other than the graphics everything is exactly the same.

Continuing on from the last post ( June 23, 2008 in the archives) where we looked at how to gain entrance into this training area, let’s move into the lower tiers of this fairly vast underground complex. As you enter through the tunnel hidden behind the poster in the jail cell area, you will be greeted by level 6 Muggers. Here is a fairly good area to train in if you are a low level.

BUT FIRST LET’S GO GET OUR 10K GOLD AND AWESOME GLOVES !

level-6-muggers.png player_safety2.png

This is the beginning of the dungeon where you arrive at from the tunnel. ( Behind the poster )  The Mugger room shown above is the room at the very SOUTHWEST corner of the map above. The very north-east corner shows the room that has a staircase that goes up to another level. You will have to travel through the cavern area on the east side of the above map through all the various levels of Roaches, but don’t worry, they will not attack you unless you first attack them.

stairs.png  Climb those Stairs. (Northeast corner room of map above )

player_safety4.png lever.png  You will now be on this level Go to the North room and pull the Magic Lever there. This lever will open the door to where you will find the Chest where your 10,000 gold coin and Security Glove rewards will be found. If you ever die and use the gloves, or decide to get rid of them by destroying them, they can always be gotten again by repeating the pulling the lever and going to the treasure Chest procedures.

AFTER PULLING THE LEVER:

Go down the stairs you came up to get to the lever room.

  stronghold-room.png

Cross from the stairs and enter the door shown above.

player_safety3.png  You will be in this area now. Head around the corner to the little alcove shown below and there you will find the treasure chest that contains the Security  Gloves and will put 10,000 gold coins into your inventory !loot-chest.png

security-gloves.png Congrats! You now have this neat pair of fighting gloves that add to your Attack, Defense, and Strength statistics. They, as I mentioned, match the Security Boots you can get at The Stronghold Of Security. Which we will start looking at in the next set of posts here at Runescape-junkie.

__________________________________________________________________

Now let’s have a close look at some of the nasty creatures that roam around this place. The story is that the Jail areas  below the Safety classroom on the surface were originally created to hold the various bad guys and gang members that roamed around in the city of Varrock. The place eventually fell into disrepair and was overtaken by the giant Cockroaches that are so prolific here. Eventually the place was excavated and is now open for adventurers to come and explore and kill these fiends and collect the treasure you drop.

( NOTE: I AM ONLY LISTING FREE WORLD DROPS HERE )

_______________________________________________________________

cockroach_drone.gif  COCKROACH DRONE

These little nasties are LEVEL 8. They have a mere 11 hitpoints but still drop decent goodies including; Air, Fire, Water and Earth runes as well as Gems and bronze daggers and helmets. Perfect training for Nooby players to level up on. These tiny things are found throughout this dungeon.

________________________________________________________________

lvl-56-roach.png  COCKROACH WORKERS

These big bugs are level 56 ! I recommend being at least in the forties in your combat level to start in on these fellows. They can hit pretty hard so be careful if you are that low. Their drops are very good and include;  Cosmic, Death, Nature, Chaos as well as Earth and Water runes. I have collected TONS of Natures and Chaos from these guys, and at higher levels it is fun to waste lots of these guys and not worry about carrying hardly any food and just rake in the loot.

________________________________________________________________

big-ass-bugs.png      ~ COCKROACH SOLDIERS ~

roach-spitting.png  NOW HERE ARE THE REAL BADASSES !!

Not only can these big boys kick your ass up close and personal, they spit nasty black goo that drains hitpoints fast! These are the most powerful creatures to train on in the free world, except for greater demons in the wilderness. These have taken over as the popular thing for high levels to train on over lesser Demons. They are tougher to kill, but their drops are supremely better than Lessers.

These level 83 beasts have a whopping 96 hit points and I wouldn’t try to solo kill these guys unless you are somewhere around combat level 80 unless you have alot of guts, lol. But the cool thing is, this area is multi-combat, so you can team up on these things and even loot share on them if you want.

Their drops include:

~Mith Medium helms and gold pieces

~RUNE Scimitars and Square Shields (of which I’ve gotten quite a few ) and rarely Rune 2-Handers and Chainmail (Haven’t gotten one as of this post )

~Laws, Death and Fire Runes

~Mithril ore (TONS of these to be gotten ), Adamantium ore and extremely rare Runite ore drops

~ Gems

SO GET ON OVER TO THE STRONGHOLD OF PLAYER SAFETY AND GET YOU SOME EXPERIENCE AND SOME GOOD SWAG !

And, lest I forget, there is a shortcut into the room where you pulled the lever, that will take you directly into that Chamber where you pulled the lever and will save you some travel if you are there to battle the higher level roaches. However there are usually always players there to compete with you if you want to solo-kill the Cockroach Soldiers. But it is a perfect place to team train on them and is accessed via the crevice in the ground next to the classroom very near the other entrance to the dungeon. ( See below. )

Where to Train on the Free World ~ STRONGHOLD OF PLAYER SAFETY

Free World TRAINING AREAS, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help 6 Comments »

That is a good and often asked question - Where do I train for the best Experience and the best treasure Drops? Well, here is a sampling of some of the best places to train on different Runescape Monsters for different level players and may give you some ideas that will hopefully be fun and lucrative for your Character.

I will start with what I am doing at the time, and for the next few posts I will be visiting all of the free world areas of just training on monsters to gain Melee combat experience. However in most all of these places, there are also  “safe spots”  where you can basically hide behind an obstacle and do long range (a.k.a. Mage or Range ) Later on we will visit the best place to train Mage and Range more exclusively.

But for now, strap on your armor and Melee weapon of choice, ( See Choosing a Runescape Weapon on Free-to-Play post on this site-type it in the ol’ search bar on any page ) and let’s go visit the best training areas for one on one ( or multiple Combat. )

I’m going to start with the Higher level monsters and work my way down to the weakest. And this site will go in reverse order, as I post them chronologically, so just scroll down  (and to previous posts ) to find the critters that fit in to what level YOU are.

________________________________________________________________

STRONGHOLD OF PLAYER SAFETY:

This is where I am currently doing Strength training. It is alot of fun and the drops from the giant bugs in here are quite good for the free worlds. Find your way to Barbarian Village ( see world map ) and go North.  DIRECTLY SOUTH of the City of Edgeville is the entrance to the SRONGHOLD OF PLAYER SAFETY.

To be able to enter the Stronghold, you must first enter the class room and learn security tips about how NOT to give away your password, get “scammed”, avoiding bad situations in general with your Runescape character and how properly to use the Report Abuse functions.

YOU WILL ALSO GET A BONUS FROM TAKING THE SAFETY TEST - 10K GOLD AND A PAIR OF COOL GLOVES THAT MATCH THE BOOTS YOU CAN GET FROM THE STRONGHOLD OF SECURITY

classroom1.png

After speaking with the teacher (above) you will take the security test and then will have access to the Stronghold below the classroom.

security-stronghold-entrance.png

Then the first time you go below into the Jail Cell area (entrance shown above, on the other side of the classroom from the regular door )  you will have to read all of the signs on the cell doors that will teach again game security facts. This and the Security DUNGEON area close by in Barbarian Village are a fun way Jagex came up with to stop newer and naive players from getting ripped off by other more seasoned players. I was scammed for almost a million gold pieces worth of stuff one time by trusting the wrong person in the game, so it is a good thing to know these security tips they give you, though it may seem goofy at the time.

Here are the Jail cells and the Guard who will tell you what to do.

jail-area.png

guard-at-stronghold.png   After you read all of the signs, ( you will only have to do it once)  from then on in you will simply come in through the back entrance, and find the empty cell with a poster on the wall, behind that is the tunnel to the area with the Giant Roaches that we want to get to.

poster.png  (hmm… a tunnel hidden behind a poster…Shawshank Redemption? )

NEXT: 10,000 free gold pieces and some cool free GLOVES ! plus..TREASURE DROPPIN’ COCKROACHES FROM HELL

NEW RUNESCAPE GRAPHICS ON THE WAY !!

Latest Runescape News and Update Commentary, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help 1 Comment »

In another huge advancement in Runescape gameplay, Jagex has announced that it will be completely updating its graphics and the look and feel of the game !  For those of you who have been around long enough to remember the original Runescape, now called “Runescape Classic ” this will remind you of the beta-phase testing the game went through when “Runescape 2″ debuted. (Now of course Runescape 2 is just “Runescape“) Confused?

Well if you weren’t around in those days, when our favorite game started out, it was 2D ! Yes, Runescape Characters were flat and very pixelated. Then when the game got it’s boost of Andrew Gower power, and Jagex ( Gower is the Company’s CEO equivalent) decided to really put Runescape on the map. A new graphics system was introduced and tested by actual players on the Internet.

I remember having my only character, Havokslinger, ( who is now a lvl 105 ) with his little 2 dimensional armored butt of level 30 something - get to do the “beta testing” of what was going to be Runescape 2. Those players who chose to try the new graphics engine had nothing to lose, just log in on a Beta world and play away. The only drawback was that anything new you got, or any experience you gained, simply did not count. You were merely testing the new graphics engine for Jagex.

But what fun it was ! And the excitement of a whole new look to the game was to be waited for with baited breath ! Lol although I know a few players personally, and lots of complainers online ( people who played and were diehard fans of ”classic”), that did not like these new changes a bit, no sir. They were sure it was going to ruin the game, or cause incredibly insane lag, or that Jagex would no longer offer free play.

For a while, Jagex offered both options of the new graphics and old. Eventually they stopped updating “classic” and all the new cool things were lost to those who never made the switch to ” Runescape 2 “. Now Classic Runescape is an old school oddity and I believe there are only several hundred players that are allowed continue on that ghost from the past.

NOW ANOTHER GENERATION:

Here we are on the verge of yet another upgrade in the quality of Runescape gameplay. Only this time there will be no testing or waiting for the switch other than waiting for the updates to load once they are perfected.

The Characters will be more realistic, and the subtle yet powerful changes of important aspects like shadows, water effects and myriads of other graphical improvements that will surely make gameplay even more pleasurable than it already is to us hardcore fans.

Let’s take a visual walk through the history of the Graphics of runescape.

CLASSIC:

runescapeclassic_combat_combat.gif  Hehe… well here is some Runescape Classic Combat for ya! Pretty corny huh? Well Runescape is no WOW  graphically but we’ve come a long way baby !

runescapeclassic_combat_ranged.gif   How’s that for some ranging action in classic? (o..m..g…right? ) Although I do admit I love the old Rune Color!

Here are some more blasts to the past when I started:

scary.jpg  Very basic buildings- Hey, there were no on-line games around !!sharks1.jpg

Goofy fishing interface and screen setup to say the least huh? ( Are we THINKING nets?)

________________________________________________________________

THE BETA ERA:

old-lessers.png  Well, we’re all 3 dimensional at least, but the older style Lessers Demons, along with us heroes, still have no shadows…always room for improvement right?

friends.jpg  A notable improvement over Classic Runescape buildings, but not quite there yet…

pking.gif

Ahh… the chaos of Player Killing. I have never heard so many complaints as when Jagex pulled free roaming PKing in favor of Bounty Hunter…

party.jpg  You’ll never see this again ! This dream of a Drop Party during Beta testing was fun …Who cared, you couldn’t keep or lose anything permanently.

________________________________________________________________

A GLIMPSE OF THINGS TO COME:

The new improvemants in the graphics will lean heavily on things like shadow and water realism, like in the following example comparing today’s graphics to new and improved, note the edges of the grass look more like grass, and not just painted color on the ground to show a path…

before.png

after.png

Here in a section of the Desert, we see the nice effect the new shadows will give, to add a bit of realism…

new-shadows.png

AND… THANK THE GODS THEY ARE IMPROVING ON THE ULTRA CHEESY TALKING HEADS OF THE CHAT INTERFACE !

new-chat-interface.png

And finally a glimpse of something I am personally looking forward to… Optimizing the space of the rather small Runescape playing screen. There will apparently be a third option added to the existing ones of “High Detail” and “Low Detail”, an option as shown below that will give you the full screen and fit in all the stat items and inventory applications on the actual screen itself. Not sure how that is going to work, but it looks good !

new-graphics-full-screen.png  In a commentary of this screenshot on the Runescape site, the Jagex team promises individual character shadows on each character. These upgrades to the Graphics will require more up to date memories and processor requirements, so those out there with really outdated machines may have to upgrade to get all of the new visual goodies, but you will still enjoy improved play if not.

No exact date for this amazing Update yet, but Jagex says it will be soon… Hope to see you out there playing ( look for Havokslinger ) and hope you are looking forward to the new improvements as much as I am !

HAPPY RUNING !

RUNESCAPE QUESTS ~ VAMPIRE SLAYER ~ Part Two

RUNESCAPE QUEST GUIDES ~ Free Quest Help, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help No Comments »

vamp.jpg   Ok, are you ready for a level 34 Vampire? Be sure you are prepared to face off with this enemy especially if you are a real beginner, he can inflict some decent damage and dies rather slowly. So get at least some Salmon to munch on while you are battling this evil Count !

map.png   Once you have geared up for battle, head for the gate that leads into the creepiness of  DRAYNOR MANOR.  This Vamp you are about to kill is not that easy if you are a lower level, so take some decent food. BE SURE YOU HAVE THE GARLIC, THE STAKE, AND A HAMMER with you or you will not be able to defeat this blood-sucking dude !

Heading north from Draynor Village, go straight up through the Manor Gate, watch out for the attacking trees,

tangle_vine.gif  but don’t bother with them - you cannot attack them anyway. You don’t want to waste any time or precious Hit Points attacking plants that you can deal no damage to no matter what level you are !

Go inside the front door to the huge house and find a staircase that leads to the basement of this place. You will know you are in the right place when you see the coffin of…

runevamp.gif   COUNT DRAYNOR…. Muahahahahaha… (ahem ) When you open the Coffin, he will attack you ! It may be a good fight if you are not a mid-to-high level character, but if you have plenty to eat you should have no trouble slaying this cat. The Garlic you are carrying will weaken him, and when you get his health low enough, you will automatically pull out the Stake and Hammer it into his beating heart ! ( eat your heart out Van Helsing )

Once Count Draynor is good and dead, YOU WILL RECIEVE:

4825 ATTACK EXPERIENCE

3 QUEST POINTS

CONGRATULATIONS !!

vampire-hunter.jpg   Ready for some  Vampire slaying Runescape style? Lets head back to spooky old Draynor Manor and kick some bloodsucking fool in the teeth !

THIS QUEST WILL AWARD YOU WITH ALMOST 5,000 ATTACK EXPERIENCE !

YOU WILL NEED:

 * A garlic clove. ( Found during the Quest )

 * A Hammer. ( Bought at any General Store )

 * 10 Gold Pieces.

Refering  ( as always ) to the World Map, locate and go to Draynor Village.

________________________________________________________________

MORGAN:

In one of the houses west of the wheat fieldin Draynor Village, you will find a fellow named Morgan. He is the Mayor of this tiny burg.  Once you find him there in the small village area of homes, speak with him. He will tell you that the town has been under siege from an evil Vampire who lives to the north in Draynor Manor.

ONCE AGAIN YOUR ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED, so offer it , and Morgan will tell you that you need to speak to aDoctor in the city of Varrock.  BEFORE GOING TO VARROCK, GO UPSTAIRS IN THIS HOUSE AND GRAB THE CLOVE OF GARLIC IN THE CUPBOARD UP THERE !

__________________________________________________________

DOCTOR HARLOW:

harlow.png   It seems that Doctor Harlow is an ex-Vampire Hunter, who now apparently has become a drunk who hangs around theBlue Moon Inn in Varrock.

blue_moon_inn_outside.png  This bar is found near the Sword Shop in southern Varrock. Go inside and talk to the Doc, and tell the old codger that Morgan is in trouble. He will ask you to buy him a beer. Go and ask the Bartender for his finest brew and give it to the Doctor.

He will either “sober” himself with the drink and start talking to you , or he will ask you to buy him another drink. The beers are only 2 gold pieces each, so it’s no big deal. Keep buying this lush beer until he is willing to talk about Vampires.

Once the old man is feeling chatty, he will inform you that you need to have a Stake and a Hammer. You should have the hammer with you at this point, and the Doctor happens to be carrying a Stake on him. ( lucky for you ) He also clues you in to the fact that Garlic weakens vampires and he tells you that it can be found at Morgan’s house - you did grab it from the cupboard, right?

_________________________________________________________________

Now go to the nearest Bank if you need to get your Armor and food, or whatever Magic or Range stuff you need, depending on your choice of combat. It’s time to head on down to Draynor Manor and face off with a Vampire !

RUNESCAPE QUESTS ~ SHIELD OF ARRAV ~ Part Two

RUNESCAPE QUEST GUIDES ~ Free Quest Help, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help 1 Comment »

shield1.gif    Now let’s move on, to joining the Phoenix Gang , and how to do that if you are the half of your team on this quest that is going to be in that Gang.

PHOENIX GANG PROCEDURE:

Speak with Reldo in the Library in the Varrock Castle. ( finding him is covered in Part One of this Quest Guide )

Inquire about where to find the Phoenix Gang, and he will tell you that he does not know. He will tell you that he has an idea that a man named Baraek the Fur Trader knows how to contact the members of this Gang.

________________________________________________________________

BARAEK:

bareak.png   Baraek will be found in Varrok Square. That is the area directly in front of Varrock Castle where the city’s fountain is located. Once you find his Fur Stall ( pictured above) ask him about the Phoenix Gang. He will want 20 gold pieces for the information. So pay the man and he will tell you that the entrance to their hideout is located in one of the houses in the ” Slum ” area near the southern gate entrance to Varrock.

HIDEOUT:

phoenix-gang.jpg    Once you get to the hideout shown here, you will discover a ladder leading down. Climb into the hideout area and down there you will find a man named Straven. Then this gets a little weird…

Tell Straven you want to join the VTAM corporation ( What? the software firm? Must be a private joke at Jagex… ) anyway, go on to let him know that you know VTAM is just a cover for the Phoenix Gang activities and that you know all about him.

Straven will tell you he wants you to bring him a Varrock news report. ( ok… ) so what you have to do then is head very slightly northwest to the Bar/Tavern/Pub near to this hideout area. The bar is called the Blue Moon Inn

blue_moon_inn_outside.png  The bar looks like this from the outside.  Go into the bar and look for Johnny the Beard. Then you must Kill him ! He will drop a scroll, that is the news report or whatever, that Straven is looking for.

KEY:

Return to Straven, and he will trade you a KEY for the scroll. This Key is the key that your counterpart friend in the Black Arm Gang will need, but first, use the key to open the locked door near Straven. Enter the Phoenix Gang hideout and search the chest in there to find half of the Shield of Arrav !

________________________________________________________________

NOW THAT YOU AND YOUR PARTNER BOTH HAVE YOUR SHIELD HALVES:

EACH OF YOU NOW HAVE HALF OF THE SHIELD THAT WAS STOLEN LONG AGO FROM THE VARROCK MUSEUM. Since they are not tradeable, you each must go and turn over your Shield Half to the Curator in the Varrock Museum.

mr_halen.png  The Curator here is found in the Museum, which is north of the Varrock east Bank. Once you locate him, you and your partner will trade your shield halves to him for two certificates.

Now trade half of the certificate with your partner. You can now join two halves of the certificate to make a whole Certificate.

__________________________________________________________

LAST STEP:

TAKE THE CERTIFICATE TO THE KING OF VARROK !

king_roald.png  When you give your certificate to King Roald here, who is of course found in Varrock Castle, he will thank you for returning an artifact to the great city and will reward you with:

1 QUEST POINT

600 GOLD COINS

( AND IF YOU ARE THE PHOENIX GANG MEMBER, YOU HAVE A PLACE TO TRAIN ON LEVEL 16 THEIVES )

congratulations !!

RUNESCAPE QUESTS ~ SHIELD OF ARRAV ~ Part One

RUNESCAPE QUEST GUIDES ~ Free Quest Help, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help No Comments »

shield1.gif    This is a rather interesting Quest, and although it has been a few years since I have done it, I still remember going through the frustration of finding a partner for this. Yes, you will at several points need another player’s assistance here.

* There are two GANGS involved in this quest; The Black Arm Gang and the Phoenix Gang.  You will need assistance from a member of an opposing gang than you !

SO, THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS IS:

FIND A FRIEND WHO WANTS TO DO THE QUEST WITH YOU AND BOTH OF YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN DIFFERENT GANGS.

________________________________________________________________

STARTING THE QUEST:

varrock-castle.jpg    library-of-varrock.png  Start out at the Library located in the back of Varrock Castle. ( Use the World Map to find the Castle in Varrock if you are clueless ) Roaming among the bookshelves there will be a man who goes by the name of Reldo.

RELDO:

reldo.png    Talk to this dude Reldo and inquire about a Quest. He will then tell you to look for a book called ” The Shield of Arrav “ -  As you look at the various bookshelves, only one of them will have a blue book in it… “search” that bookshelf and you will find the book you are looking for.

shield-of-arrav.gif   Read the book and it will tell you a story about the shield, and some lore and hoopla.  Now is the time to choose which gang you are going to become a member of. Remember whoever is helping you must be in the opposite gang.

**** YOU WILL ONLY RETRIEVE HALF OF THE SHIELD OF ARRAV - YOUR PARTNER IN THIS QUEST WILL RETRIEVE THE OTHER HALF, SO ONLY WORRY ABOUT GETTING THE HALF THAT MATCHES WHICH GANG YOU ARE IN !

________________________________________________________________

The BLACK ARM Gang:

AS YOU WOULD ENTER THE SOUTH ENTRANCE TO VARROCK, TO THE WEST OF THAT ENTRANCE, IN THE  GROUP OF BUIDINGS THERE THAT IS SOMETIMES REFERED TO AS THE ” SLUMS “- YOU WILL FIND…

tramp.gif      This TRAMP, who is hanging around an alleyway.

Ask this fellow what is down the alleyway, and he will tell you about joining the Black Arm Gang, Now go down the alley to where there’s a yellow dot denoting an NPC ( non player character ) inside and go in and find and speak with Katrine.

KATRINE is a tough chick who is a member of this gang. Tell her you are up for a challenge. She will want you to fetch some weapons for her.

Here is where you will need a friend in the Phoenix Gang ! Towards the west in one of the buildings is a ladder that leads up to a weapon storage roomthat your counterpart in the Phoenix Gang will have the KEY to !

Get the key to the storage room and go up the ladder ( You will have to look around for it ) A gang member will attack you. Kill him and take the two crossbows in the room !

crossbow-june.gif   Take the crossbows to Katrine, then go into the other room near her and go up the staircase. In a cupboard up there you will find half of the Shield of Arrav.

RUNESCAPE QUESTS ~ SHEEP SHEARER

RUNESCAPE QUEST GUIDES ~ Free Quest Help, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help No Comments »

UPDATE: THANKS BE TO THE GODS AT JAGEX;

THIS IS NO LONGER A RUNESCAPE QUEST !  (LOL IT NEVER REALLY MET THAT CRITERIA ANYWAY)

I WILL LEAVE THE GUIDE FOR NOSTALGIC INTEREST.

long live Runescape

This sublimely noob Quest starts by meeting the ultimate redneck… Fred the Farmer,  is the key to…

STARTING THIS QUEST:

If you start from Lumbridge ( Looking at the all important World Map of course ) simply follow the road norththat will eventually turn to the left ( west ) and goes past the sheep pen to a farm area near the windmill. An onion patch is also there. You’ll see it right before you get to the wheatfield in Draynor Village.  Once you locate the farm, talk to Fred the Farmer.

WHAT YOU NEED:

* 20 PIECES OF WOOL  ( Which you will shear from Runescape Sheep )… This you will spin on a Spinning Wheel into:

* 20 BALLS OF WOOL  ( This looks like a ball of yarn, and other than using it in this quest, you will use it to make the strings that you wear around your neck to hang various Amulets and Necklaces )

________________________________________________________________

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO:

What you gotta do is get yourself a pair of shears… and find some sheep… and basically chase after them and shear their wool. SHEARS CAN BE PURCHASED AT ANY GENERAL STORE.

shearsheap.gif  The little rascals will run from you so, you get a fun little adventure for your badass warrior or mage or whatever,  chasing sheep around and clipping their wool !  It can be rather frustrating, but have a sense of humor and enjoy it !

_________________________________________________________________

SHEEPCAN BE FOUND ON THE ROAD YOU TAKE FROM  Lumbridge TO WHERE THIS FARMHOUSE IS… If you missed them they look alot like …sheep.

__________________________________________________________________

So, once you get a full inventory of sheep’s wool, your next step is to:

SPIN THE RAW WOOL INTO BALLS OF WOOL.

The nearest place to spin Wool is on the second floor of   LUMBRIDGE CASTLE. ( Of course now you can buy spun wool from the Grand Exchange for less than 10 gold pieces each, but that won’t help your Crafting Skill…)

________________________________________________________________

Okay- now you have succesfully sheared 20 sheep, take your swag to Fred the Farmer to COMPLETE THIS QUEST and receive:

1 QUEST POINT

150 CRAFTING EXPERIENCE

60 GOLD COINS ( Don’t spend it all in one place )

magicsymbol.gif     Now that you have brought the package from Sedridor, the Head Wizard at Wizard’s Tower, to Aubury in the magic shop in Varrock, let’s move on.

aubury.gif  When speaking with Aubury here, he will ask if you want to buy some Runes. Tell him that you have a package for him. He will be surprised by this and ask you for a few moments to look at the contents of this package you have delivered to him.

Talk to him again and he will tell you that it may be possible for Sedridor to teach you how to craft Runes ! He will then give you a set of RESEARCH NOTES for you to return to the Head Wiz Sedridor back at the Wizard’s Tower.

right-said-sedridor.png  Once you make your way back to the Tower, you and Sedridor will be chatting for quite some time. He will thank you for bringing him the research notes and will give you a long history of the work he and Aubury have done.

He will give you a long history of how the secrets to the Rune Crafting skill were lost , and that to be able to craft runes, you must mine RUNE ESSENCE. He will go on to explain how either he or Aubury will teleport you to the area where rune essence is mined.

The way Runecrafting works and the locations of the Altars where you can activate different kinds of Runes using matching TALISMANS will also be covered , so pay attention to what he is saying to you !

________________________________________________________________

Rune Talismans are now so easily available by simply buying them at the grand Exchange. So are the essences for that matter, so it is a much easier skill to master. It is a cool place in the Runescape world where you mine these essences, and it can be quite fun to build up your Runecrafting skills and make more and more powerful and valuable Runes as time goes by. Right click on the runecrafting icon in your skills list on the screen to see what levels you need to be to make the different Runes.

There is also a Runecrafting Guide on the Main Menu on the Runescape Site.

Upon completing this Quest, YOU WILL RECEIVE:

1 QUEST POINT

THE RUNECRAFTING SKILL

AN AIR TALISMAN

RUNESCAPE QUEST GUIDES ~ Free Quest Help, Runescape Guides, Tips, Walkthroughs, and Help No Comments »

wizard.gif   This killer Quest will give you the ability to Runecraft, the Runescape Skill that allows you to make your own Magic Runes rather than buy or find them. You can also craft runes to sell and make a load of gold pieces for your trouble !

START THE QUEST:

horatio.png    Go to Lumbridge Castle and head to the second floor of the castle and speak with ol’ Duke Horacio. Ask this guy if he has any Quests for you. He will proceed to inform you of a strange Talisman he has found.

He will want you to take the Talisman to the head Wizard at Wizard’s Tower south of Draynor. If you tell him “sure” you will do it, he will hand over the Air Talisman to you.

air-talisman.jpg  Take this little magical item and leave the Castle and head west toward Draynor Village. Using the World Map if you still don’t know the way to Wizard’s Tower, walk west until you see the long bridge leading from the coast to the small Island that is home to the Tower.  Once you are there, climb DOWN the ladder you will find on the ground floor and locate Sedridor.

sedridor.png   When you talk with Sedridor, browse through the conversation options and verify that he is the Head Wizard and that Duke Horacio has indeed sent you to him with a Talisman.  When the Wizard asks you for the item, give it to him and he will inform you that the Talisman is a missing key to their ancestor’s lost legacy or some such thing.

He will give you a package, that looks much like a birthday gift, to send to Aubury, the man who runs the Magic Shop in the city of Varrock

Again looking at the World Map to find the best route, you will be in for a bit of a walk if you are not level 25 magic and able to cast the Varrock teleportation spell !

aubury-magic-shop.png   Once you have found the Magic Shop in Varrock, speak with the proprietor Aubury. Give him the package, and you will be on your way to the next step in the Quest.
